Two studies of the human skeleton
Thorax, spine, pelvis and legs seen in profile and from the front
Two faint skeletal studies stand side by side on this worn sheet. At the left a rib cage is shown in profile above the pelvis and thigh; at the right a fuller figure gives the thorax and vertebral column descending to the pelvis and both legs. The drawing is delicate and much rubbed; a short untranscribed inscription and an inventory number remain at the lower part of the sheet.

Frontal skeleton: thorax, spine and legs
The right-hand study shows the rib cage from the front, ribs curving out from the breastbone, with the vertebral column running down to the sacrum and pelvis and the long bones of both legs below. It is drawn as a standing skeleton seen straight on.
Profile study of ribs and pelvis
The left-hand study gives the rib cage in profile, set above the basin of the pelvis and the bone of the thigh. The fainter lines trace the curve of the spine and the joint of the hip.
