Superficial muscles of the arm and thorax
The left-hand figure lays bare the muscles of the shoulder, upper arm and forearm together with the pectoral region and part of the rib cage. Fine pen strokes follow the direction of the muscle fibres, recording their attachments and surface relief.
Second study of the shoulder and upper arm
A companion study at the right isolates the shoulder, deltoid and upper arm seen from a turned angle. The repetition allows the same musculature to be compared from more than one direction.
