Studies of a Reclining Child and Two Women in Profile
A crawling infant and two female heads in elaborate headdresses
A small horizontal sheet carrying three studies in black and red chalk. At left a nude infant reclines or crawls, its limbs loosely sketched; in the center a woman is shown in profile wearing a tall, folded headdress over long hair; at right a second woman in profile wears an ornate cap and a long string of beads at her breast. An old number appears at the upper right and no transcription accompanies the sheet.

Reclining nude infant
A small naked child is drawn at the left, lying and reaching across the ground with softly modelled limbs. It is the least finished of the three studies.
Profile head with tall headdress
A woman's head is seen in strict profile, her long hair falling loose beneath a tall, folded cloth headdress. Strong shadow behind her sets off the silhouette.
Profile bust with cap and beads
At the right a woman is shown in profile wearing a decorated cap with a bow and a long looped string of beads over her bodice. The features and costume are carefully drawn.
