Force as daughter of motion, mother of weight, and cause of muscular strength
A short meditation, written in the upper right of an otherwise blank leaf, defines force: generated by scarcity or abundance, daughter of material motion, granddaughter of spiritual motion, and origin of weight. With material motion, weight and percussion, force is one of the four 'accidental powers' behind all mortal works; weight is finite but force is infinite. Force is traced to spiritual motion running through the limbs of animals, swelling the muscles that shorten and draw the sinews to produce human strength.

Force is generated by scarcity or abundance, the daughter of material motion, granddaughter of spiritual motion, and origin of weight. Weight is finite in the elements of water and earth, but force is infinite, for with instruments it could move infinite worlds. Force, material motion, weight and percussion are the four accidental powers by which all mortal works have their being and their death.
Muscular strength from spiritual motion
Force originates in spiritual motion which, running through the limbs of sentient animals, swells their muscles; the swollen muscles shorten and draw after them the sinews joined to them, and from this the force of human limbs is caused. A man's force can bring forth another proportionally greater according to length of motion.
