Gearing dimensions in braccia, a boat with a balance scheme, and numeric scales.
Faint studies of toothed wheels and spindle (lantern) gearing, with dimensions given in braccia. One wheel measures 1 braccio and 1/4 across with 60 teeth; a smaller circle carries 12 spindles; another wheel measures 3 braccia and 3/4 taken to the tips of its teeth. A balance scheme drawn above a boat is marked 100, and number scales and a double numeric diagram accompany the figures. The drawings are lightly rendered but the accompanying measurements are transcribed.

Partly toothed wheel of 60 teeth
A partly toothed wheel is given a diameter of 1 braccio and 1/4 and a count of 60 teeth. It is one of several gear wheels sized on the sheet.
Small circle with 12 spindles
A small circle is marked 'around 3/4-1/4' with 12 spindles (fusi), the staves of a lantern pinion that would mesh with the toothed wheel.
Wheel measured to the tips of its teeth
An upper-margin note records that the wheel is found at 3 braccia and 3/4, that is, taken as far as the points of the teeth. A further circle is likewise given a diameter of 3 braccia and 3/4.
Balance scheme above a boat
Above a lightly drawn boat, a scheme of a balance is sketched and marked with the figure 100. It sits among the gearing studies as a weighing or equilibrium diagram.
Double numeric diagram
A double diagram is annotated with the figures 12 and 8 and repeated eighths (1/8, 5/8, 5/8), working through the fractional measurements used for the wheels and spindles.
