Studies of helical springs, roller chains and gearing for a mechanism
The sheet is crowded with mechanical studies: helical (coiled) springs shown in perspective, small gear wheels and drums, and several runs of articulated chain built from interlocking links. Two brief notes label the parts, one referring to the spring of a firing mechanism and another to a chain element that gives a complete turn. Additional untranscribed notes accompany the lower drawings.

Spring of the firelock
A caption in the upper left corner identifies one of the coiled springs as belonging to a firing mechanism. It sits among a group of helical springs drawn as stacked, tapering coils.
Articulated chain giving a full turn
A note beside the chain links at lower left explains that the element is meant to give one complete turn. The drawings show roller-chain segments of cylindrical links pinned together, curving across the sheet.
Helical springs in perspective
Several coiled springs are drawn as stacked rings, studying how the spiral compresses and extends. They are paired with small drums and gear wheels that would store or transmit the spring's force.
