The sheet is worked in red chalk with studies of a rotating device: a large hoop or wheel mounted on a central axle over a base, drawn in more than one view, together with smaller mechanisms and an organic knotted form. A short column of figures and a small circle appear at the lower right. The e-Leo record marks the leaf 'devoid of writing,' while the Ambrosiana catalogue associates it with geometric studies of circle-sectors, the hexagon and the octagon inscribed in a circle within a square.

Wheel-and-axle mechanism in several views
