A sheet of pen studies of springs, screws, cams and gears with sparse labels
This densely drawn sheet gathers a range of machine elements, of which only a few are labeled: a spring (molle) beside the right-hand figure, a screw (vite) by a small figure at left, points m and n, and the note that n m will be a quarter circle. Around these labels the page carries cams and grooved drums, a hammer-and-toothed-wheel device, bevel gears and an arc of small wheels or pulleys, most of them drawn without accompanying text. The sparse captions identify the sprung and screw-driven parts among the mechanisms.
