Blows, the Counter-Lever, and the Force of Turbid Water
A body driven by a blow moves faster than its mover; turbid water strikes harder than clear
Propositions on blows and motion: a blow is weaker on a less resistant object, a body moved by a blow travels faster than its mover, and no driven body can outrun the thing that pushes it. A closing note on the 'blow of water' holds that turbid water damages its object more than clear water, and that its lower part harms more than its upper part.

A blow-moved body outruns its mover but not the pusher
A blow is of lesser force on an object of less resistance. The motion of a thing moved by a blow is much faster than that of the thing that moves it, yet a body driven by force, weight, or blow never surpasses the swiftness of the thing that pushes it.

The labelled elements are c, a b, d. The point n will move along the line c d and not along the line a b. A body thrown by the counter-lever through a blow, force, or weight applied to its lever departs from it only at equal angles.
Blow of water: turbid strikes harder than clear
The percussion made by moving turbid water does greater damage to its object than that of clear water. The part of the turbid water nearest the bottom harms the object more than the upper part.
