Three mechanical notes share the sheet. Two draw-plates (trafila) are shown, the first set in motion when a band b clamps the catch, or ulivella; a double inclined plane carries weights marked 2 and 4 whose separated loads nonetheless resolve along the central line n m; and a soldering apparatus joins curved copper plates by melting copper wire with a pyramid-shaped torch. Leonardo insists on soldering with the same metal as the piece and describes preparing the tube with clay and filings beforehand.

Weights on a double inclined plane (2 and 4)
Two separated weights a b on a double incline, marked 2 and 4, do not push toward the center of the world individually, yet their conjoined whole tends toward it along the central line n m. Leonardo relates the weights to the proportions of the triangle bases, noting the sites lack proportionate spaces.
Soldering apparatus for curved copper plates (n m, o p)
To solder curved copper plates o p together, Leonardo directs melting copper wire m with the pyramid-shaped torch n, soldering with the same metal as the whole. The tube is first bound, heated, filled with clay and filings, then drained so the dry lining remains before soldering.
