Sheet of mechanical devices: clock, wheels and engines
A weight-driven clock train, a coiled spring device, a wheel on a stand, and small water and war machines
A crowded pen-and-ink sheet of mechanisms, dominated at the top by a large pegged wheel driving a train of rods, linkages and a striking hammer, with hanging weights along its length. Weight-driven wheel and striking train
A large horizontal wheel studded with pegs turns a train of jointed rods and levers leading to a hammer, with weights hung at several points to drive or regulate the motion. One member is marked with the letter M. The layout reads as the going and striking work of a clock-like mechanism.
Coiled spring or screw device
At the upper right a tightly coiled spring or screw is set within a frame linked by rods to pivoting arms and small wheels. A short caption is written above it. The drawing isolates the component from the larger assembly.
Spiked crown wheel with notes
A wheel ringed with pointed teeth is drawn at the center-left, flanked by blocks of handwriting explaining its action, and a lever-and-weight arrangement below it. A label reading N is placed nearby. The captions are present but not transcribed.
Wheel on a stand with suspended weight
A large spoked wheel is mounted vertically in a wooden frame on a turned stand, with a weight or bob hanging into a glass vessel below. The arrangement suggests a study of a weight-driven or oscillating drive. It is the most fully finished machine on the sheet.
Paddle-wheel boat and vaned wheels
Among the small machines at the lower left is a boat hull fitted with side paddle wheels, together with vaned or windmill-like wheels. These relate to moving through or working water. They are sketched more loosely than the main devices above.
Small framed engines
The lower-left group also includes braced frames and a framed engine with a pivoting arm resembling a catapult or throwing machine, alongside drums and windlass-like structures. The forms are small and rapidly drawn.
